Laura Roeder has hit on a successful strategy to use podcasting as a marketing channel - Instead of starting her own, get lots of guest interviews on established shows and "borrow" their audiences.
After more than 100 interviews, it's the best performing channel for her MeetEdgar software.
Of course, you have to have something interesting to say.
- You can now reach pretty much any demographic via a podcast.
- You can't sit around waiting to be asked to guest interview - you have to pitch.
- Customize your pitch to the podcast. Look for an angle where you can offer something to their audience from your unique combination of experiences.
- Laura wouldn't recommend creating unique landing pages and email sequences for each podcast. It's too time consuming unless you get on one of the big shows. To find attribution, talk to your customers and ask.
